Jiun is a F2P MMORPG orthogonal 2D retro style, developed over four months by a team of passionates of video game.
The game is playable in real time which differs from many 2D games wich are online turn-based, we wanted to maintain a user-friendly controls and gameplay similar to Zelda.
In Jiun it will mainly be possible to fight by choosing among three factions availables, create objects, buy homes, joining organizations' player, attacking enemy's cities, rob resources and garrisons goods.

Do you ever imagined a night, wearing the armor of a lost hero, you venture into the jungle of thousand dangers with friends, torches and swords in hands?
In Jiun it is possible.

Jiun relies heavily on the use of objects. So there is no character class.
Your character is defined by what you like, because if you often use a bow you will be much more clever with it and arrows than with a big hammer.
There are no spells that the character can learn. However, you can equip some 'stones' with particular characteristics that might allow you to cast offensives or defensives spells.


You have many objects? So you should buy houses in the center of a walled city outskirts and hire mercenaries to defend your goods.
If you have the money, you can pay the deposit at the bank of the city? ...
Remember, however, that it closes at night.


In fact, in Jiun there will be a day / night cycle with a duration of 2 hours.

You're not satisfied with the security of the city? Talk to the local lord and it will take your point in consideration and will do its best to ensure the safety of his territory but do not be surprised if taxes increase...
Jiun offer you the opportunity to occupy some position and thus manage a city and so simplify the exchange of resources with neighboring cities.

This morning when you walk in the desert under the burning sun eremos, you stopped near an oasis to quench your thirst. Something shiny half buried in the sand, caught your eye.

In Jiun it will be possible to find buried objects by other players as well as find unique items that exist in a single copy on your game server.
Beware of other players! They will probably try to rob it.

Current features :
- Persistence of players and doodads in realtime.
- Ability to use your right hand and left hand whatever the weapons you use.
- Respawn
- Chatbox
- Simple GUI
- Only PVP
- Players are pushed when they are wounded like in zelda and retro-games. It adds a very interesting component of 'push and block'.
- Basic music, only an alpha map, some sounds
- Bubble when writing
In developpement:
- Character customization
- Quests and NPC
- Non-melee weapons like bows or javelins!
- A lot of maps
- Leveling system and XP
- Inventory system

A public beta will take place in the next few months and we will keep you updated from our website.

Regarding the system requirements, the game will be played on a web browser such as Google Chrome as an applet. Jiun is a retro game but it uses the latest technology (including Slick 2D) which does not preclude the fact that it can run on a linux ubuntu pc, single processor with 256MB of RAM.
Of course you must be owner of an internet connection and a keyboard. The game is fully playable on a keyboard, handful when you're on a laptop riding the train for example. At least a 10kB/s connection's (> 5 players nearby and moderately intense fighting) is needed.

The project aims to be marketed by the end of 2013.

P.S²: As you can see, whole of screenshots are in french but don't worry the game will be translated for the alpha/beta and public releases.
