should be

totalDelta -= controlInterval;


controlInterval will keep decreasing until it becomes lower than the value an int can hold, and when it does it becomes a positive value, and the selection statement (line 179 i think)
Code:
if (totalDelta > controlInterval) {

return false; so no controls are executed after that point. ;]

Unless I missed something...

Thanks for the report, however the platformer is just sample code I released when i was finished playing with it. It doesn't form part of the distribution, infact I'm not even sure it's in source control.
