Added a Resource Loader tutorial.

It loads Images, Sounds, Animations and Text to memory from an XML and aloows the caller to obtain resources by ID.

I'll be using this in the (now mythically late, almost forgotten) slickout tutorial.

Good job, looks like a nice tutorial.

Seems like that would make a good little add-on library for Slick[?]

I write here, just in case, link to first Slick Contest:

Beer Slick Contest

there are all game sources downloadable, so could be a really good way to learn slick

Yeah, I would like to do so. I never did a webstart, need to follow th tutorials so I can do it, then I'll add to both of the tutorials, Slickblocks & Slickout.

Hello everybody.

I put the previous post, that page does not work anymore... but I put it in another web now and also expanded the tutorial.

I did not create a tutorial about Slick, but, it is about java game development 2D and 3D and networking. It is here:

http://code.google.com/p/lucu

Again, it is not exactly about Slick. But, it's a beginning. I did it this year and for next year and I am thinking on expanding the tutorial to cover more about Slick and Java Monkey Engine.

So it is like a reference.

Regards,
Taksan

Any good up to date tutorials about making platform games? Looking for awhile for slick tutorials but the only one i could find was the one in the slick wiki, which seems incomplete as well as a bit hard to understand.

Anyone know of a good tutorial or maybe would like to make a tutorial?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! <3

A good tips I found today : http://lwjgl.org/forum/index.php/topic, ... l#msg21001
Some beta tester on windows seven tell me that the framerate on screen is 60 but seems choppy.
With this little fix, everything is smooth now, really strange.

Why the Webstart Demos' source code is not available?
I really need to see how those effects are done.

I have no idea how to do the graphics elements as seen in the Slick2D Graphics Test webstart demo.
Any help is appreciated.

All the webstart demos are part of Slick's source code (the test classes) and are of course available.
You can use a SVN client to download the sources from the repository or you use your web browser to view them.

The source code of the "Slick2D Graphics test" is here:
https://bob.newdawnsoftware.com/repos/slick/trunk/Slick/src/org/newdawn/slick/tests/GraphicsTest.java

Cheers,
Tommy
