I'm trying to physically simulate some tank treads around two wheels using phys 2D:
The tracks consist of a bunch of box shaped body's connected together using basic joints with the anchor set to be the edge of the box before. This works to drive the vehicle however I'm suffering from a problem with perpetual motion. As soon as one of the tread segments moves it seems to start off a chain reaction where the whole tread will start moving like a conveyer belt at higher and higher speed. I think I know the reason why this is happening, when one of the segments moves it causes the chain to shift in one direction, eventually this effect reaches all the way around the chain and effects the segment that caused the movement in the first place.
I know the wheels are having no influnece on this effect because I've set the wheel friction to 0 and it still is doing it, I'm currently at a loss with how to solve it, anyone have any ideas?
